Between Modern Historiography and postmodern Historiography:study on Michael Oakeshott’s Historical Thought]

Abstract
As a historical philosopher,Michael Oakeshott's reflection on the nature and connotation of history is mainly reflected in his representative works such as What is History?and Other Essays,Experience and Its Modes and On History and Other Essays.Although Oakeshott is outside the scope of postmodern historiography, his historical thought has many similarities with postmodern historical thought, which mainly includes the rejection of the theory of historical correspondence, the elaboration of the characteristics of historical language and the reflection on the relationship between the past of practice and the past of history.Through the discussion of the similarities,it can be found that Oakeshott's historical thought is even more reflective, which also indicates that Oakeshott's historical thought should have a certain status and be paid attention to in the transition process from modern historiography to postmodern historiography.
