Abstract
To seek historical truth, historians need to apply both oral and written historical materials. The oral history research project on ten cooperatives in Shanxi province, demonstrated that oral historical material is irreplaceable, however, it is not sufficient, therefore mutual corroboration of written and oral historical material is essential for historians.
