Abstract
Our objective in this paper is make one reflection about the question of space in contemporaryhistoriography from the debate about a narrativity of history and the relations that the historians establishwith philosophical works and of the literary criticism to analyze the relationship between time and space.However, we defend that in spite of perspective phenomenological and poetical of space, it is possible toapprehend aspects of reality which the documents refer, taking into account the subjectivity and powerrelations present in the documentation. To this end, we make some comments on documents that recountthe Portuguese conquests in the center of South America.
