Abstract
"The toiling masses overthrew the landlords' and capitalists' government, and crushed the system based on exploitation. The working class, allied with the laboring peasantry, took power into its own hands. The revolution instituted a dictatorship of the proletariat and created a new type of state, the Socialist Republic of Soviets, and a new type of democracy, democracy for the toiling masses."
