Abstract
Discusses the confrontation between the two most important historical paradigms that predominated in the West during the 19th-20th centuries - the Enlightenment and German historicism. Contrasting historicism and its "historical reason" to the philosophical basis of the Enlightenment, the author considers German historicism as the "re-founder of history.
