Abstract
In the recent past economic and social history have been the paradigms of "scientific" history. Today, however, the traditional genres (biography, political history, diplomatic history, narrative history, the history of institutions, military history) are resurgent in international historiography. The new paradigm through which history acquires its scientific and social credibility, however, needs the concept and accumulated experience of social history and the principles of globalism and unification of genres in the face of extensive specialization.
