This doctoral seminar wishes to explore how historians can engage with Foucault’s heuristic concepts. Which challenges and difficulties does the historian face when appropriating concepts such as “governmentality” or “parrhêsia”? The seminar consists of a preparatory session on Thursday 22 June and masterclasses by Jean-Lucien Sanchez, Florence Hulak, Luca Paltrinieri on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 June. PhD students have the opportunity to present their research as it relates to the course. The seminar will be conducted in French and English. Prior registration is necessary.
