CfP: Factual Narratives: Types, Possibilities and Limits

Certain types of narratives, such as historical, are usually contrasted with fictional stories and it is argued that the factual narratives depict the reality or facts. But what are the factual narratives? Is it a clear category? What are the differences between factual and fictional narratives or stories? How do we construct them? Should the factual narratives be understood as mainly representations of facts? Do they contain certain fictional elements or is it the case that even fictional stories possess a factual dimension?

The conference about factual narratives provides an opportunity to discuss these and similar questions. The focus should be on various theoretical or philosophical issues concerning factual narratives as well as on particular case studies from such areas as history (political history, history of literature, history of philosophy etc.), international relations etc.
