Albert Mills

Biography and/or project

Professor of Management and Director of the PhD (Management) program at the Sobey School of Business (Saint Mary’s U., Canada). My main research interests center around gender, history and the sociology of knowledge. With Gabrielle Durepos I have developed an approach to historiography that we call ANTi-History, that combines actor-network theory, the sociology of knowledge, cultural theory and poststructuralist historiography. Using ANTi-History, my latest project has an overall objective of gaining a greater understanding of how management knowledge in Canada is developed and what the implications are for: a) management education and the diversification and dissemination of ideas, b) gender equity, and c) Canadian identity and history in management theorizing. The project recently received a $182,000 grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada . . . stay tuned.
