Biography and/or project

I am a historian graduated from the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, of the Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (FCS-UNACH), in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, México. I obtained an PHD in History at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) and I was a student of "The Escuelita Zapatista" ("the little school, or le petite école"), organized by the Ejército Zapatista de LIberación Natcional (EZLN). I was also one of the co-founders of the "Immanuel Wallerstein Center", then endorsed by Professor I. Wallerstein, at the Universidad de la Tierra (CIDECI-UNITIERRA) at San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Actually, I am a proffesor and researcher in the Department of Sociology of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, (UAM) of México, and I am a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

My lines of research are the following:
1) Historiography. Concepts, methods and techniques of historical research; fields like comparative history, global history, cross history; schools and perspectives like Annales, Microstorie, World-System Analysis.
2) The History of the Present Time (counter-memory, commemoration rituals, political iconography, rumors, fake news)
