Biography and/or project
I am a European and world historian, with expertise in three main branches of that field: a) the history of the French empire, most especially in north Africa, b) the history of relations between the Arab-Islamic and European worlds over the longue durée, c) the study of time and the relationship between ideas of time and history in the world’s major cultures.
