Abstract
Through the methodization of the contents and the teaching of the History of Cartography, Jaime Cortesão fabricated a narrative and a pedagogy of Brazil's national territory evolution, which joint in the same role Alexandre de Gusmão and Rio Branco. This fabrication served to rescue the role of Brazilian diplomats in the invention of the Nation and to the recomposition of brazilian foreign policy after the Second World War. Por meio da metodização dos conteúdos e do ensino da História da Cartografia, Jaime Cortesão consagrou uma narrativa e uma pedagogia da formação do território nacional em que Alexandre de Gusmão e Rio Branco passaram a figurar em conjunto. Esta fabricação serviu para o resgate do papel dos diplomatas na invenção da Nação e para a recomposição do papel do Brasil no jogo das relações internacionais após a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
