Saber científico e pensamento pós-moderno: apontamentos de Jürgen Habermas e Jean-François Lyotard // [Scientific knowledge and postmodern thought: notes of Jürgen Habermas and Jean-François Lyotard]

The work aims to elucidate aspects of scientific knowledge in so-called postmodernthought, based on two authors: Jürgen Habermas and Jean-François Lyotard. The firstbrought the idea of a post-modernity linked and dependent of modernity (as anunfinished project), and related to the use of humanity as a collective subject. Lyotarddenies the emancipatory assumptions of knowledge mentioned by Habermas,demonstrating a critical knowledge linked to the heterogeneity of language games thatmove society. The disbelief in the metanarratives of the author seems to lead to alegitimization of knowledge by paralogism, establishing a close relationship betweentruth and power. Thus, it is intended to clarify points about the discussion of knowledgein contemporary society, as well as the discussion between modernity and post-modernity, basing on the considerations of Habermas and Lyotard.
