Biography and/or project

Amon Pinho carried out his postdoctoral studies in Philosophy at the University of Lisbon (2011) and holds a PhD in History at the University of São Paulo (2006), where he also obtained a bachelor’s degree in History, at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences (1999). He is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU), where he coordinates the Laboratory of Studies on Theories and Writings of History (LETEH) and is an Associate Researcher at the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon (CFUL). He has experience in the areas of History and Philosophy, with an emphasis on Theory and Philosophy of History, History of Historiography and History of Contemporary Philosophy, dedicating himself to study and research the following nuclei of themes and interests: Modernity, philosophies of history and dialectic of Enlightenment; History, memory, science, art and narrative; Concepts of time; Walter Benjamin (life and work); Agostinho da Silva (life and work); Brazilian and Ibero-American thought. Furthermore, he runs, as a scientific and editorial coordinator, two book collections in which selected writings of Agostinho da Silva and Walter Benjamin are in process of publishing.
