Biography and/or project


Christina Kleiser is an historian who works at the interface of contemporary history, theory of history and ethics. She recently completed her doctoral thesis on “The notion of memory work and the national socialist crimes” (awarded with a doc-grant of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Theodor Körner Prize) as well as a research project on the impact of national socialist beliefs in the Austrian society after 1945 (funded by the “Zukunftsfonds” of the Austrian Republic). Since 2011 she is associated with the department of history at the University of Berne. Prior to that she was a scientific collaborator at the department of philosophy and lecturer at the department of contemporary history of the University of Vienna.

She is currently preparing a new research project on critical history and gender justice.
