Marnie Hughes-Warrington’s research has covered a broad range of topics in historiography, from the study of the historical imagination, to historical films and through to hate histories. These topics are all drawn together by her interest in the metaphysics and metaethics of history, why people make histories, and why some people hurt one another in the name of history. She has been the recipient of a number of fellowships, prizes, awards and honours, including the Australian Prime Minister’s Award for University Teacher of the Year (2008), an Australian Teaching Excellence Award for Arts and the Humanities (2008), and a Visiting Professorial fellowship in Global History at Leipzig University (2008). Her most recent publication is Revisionist Histories (2013, Routledge). She is currently working on the third edition of Fifty Key Thinkers on History (2000), and has started a new project on the idea of history as wonder.
