Martin Klüners

Biography and/or project

From 2000 till 2007 I studied Medieval History, German Literature and Italian at Humboldt University, Berlin. My Magister thesis was about Otto of Freising and Joachim of Fiore, more precisely about their special views on the Roman Empire as an eschatological subject. For my PhD project (at Ruhr University Bochum) I changed the epoch and examined the boundary lines between the philosophy of history and psychoanalysis (which is also the German title of my book that was published in 2013, see bibliography). At the moment I envisage a PostDoc project about the possibility of an intercultural philosophy of history. I would be grateful for an intellectual exchange especially with researchers from outside Germany – as in Germany the professional prospects for someone who has focused primarily on questions concerning the theory of history are not promising.
