Omar Alejandro Murad

Biography and/or project

I hold a PhD. from University of Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in social sciences from National University of Quilmes. In my PhD. thesis, I studied the tropology and narrativism of Hayden White. I sustain that his work offers a solid framework for the study of the presentation and representation of the past as an argumentative practice. In my current work, I analyze the diverse relationships between history and memory considered as two modalities of argumentation. I am interested in the diverse languages used for talking about the past. I teach Philosophy of History in National University of Mar del Plata and I have published several papers about historical theory, philosophy and the relationships between history and memory.
